BMC FB928/20 – High-Performance Replacement Air Filter for the Original Airbox

BMC FB928/20 is a high-quality panel air filter designed to fit directly into the original BMW airbox, replacing the factory paper filter. BMC uses a multi-layer oiled cotton filter material designed to provide excellent airflow while maintaining effective filtration.

BMC air filters are a popular upgrade for both standard and tuned vehicles. The higher-flow filter reduces intake restriction and allows the engine to breathe more efficiently while maintaining excellent filtration. Especially on tuned engines, a high-flow air filter is an easy way to make sure the factory paper filter does not unnecessarily restrict airflow.

BMC manufactures its filters using a Full Moulding process, producing the filter frame from a single mould without welded joints. The filter element consists of multiple layers of oiled cotton protected by an epoxy-coated metal mesh. According to BMC, the filter is capable of filtering contaminants down to 7 microns.

Unlike a conventional disposable paper filter, the BMC filter is washable and reusable. It can be serviced using BMC’s dedicated cleaning and re-oiling kit, allowing the same filter to be used for a long time without regular replacement.
