The 034Motorsport S34 Carbon Fiber Intake is one of the highest performing intake systems available for EA888 Gen 4 MQB Evo engines. The full kit includes not only the carbon fiber airbox but also the critically important turbo inlet elbow and silicone inlet hose, allowing the entire system to function as one optimized airflow solution all the way to the turbo.

This intake system is designed to improve engine breathing, increase intake sound, and support power and torque gains in tuned setups. The system uses an open airbox design that directs cool ambient air to the filter while driving and minimizes the effect of engine bay heat.

The intake is designed to allow air to flow as freely as possible both into and around the filter. Overly restrictive airbox designs or undersized filters can reduce airflow, so this system balances filter size and enclosure design to maximize airflow. This helps improve airflow to the turbo, especially when running larger hybrid turbochargers.

The large cone filter provides a large filtration surface area and is capable of capturing very small particles while maintaining excellent airflow capacity. This level of filtration performance is often not achieved by lower cost alternatives, as seen in multiple independent tests.

Construction and design

The intake uses a CFD modeled inlet and hose to replace the restrictive factory accordion style plastic pipe. This results in smoother airflow and reduced restriction. The carbon fiber heat shield helps prevent hot engine bay air from reaching the filter.
