Open Air Intake System – EA888.3 2.0 TSI / 1.8 TSI (TÜV Approved)
This high-flow open air intake system is one of the best performance intakes available for the Volkswagen EA888.3 2.0 TSI and 1.8 TSI engines. TÜV approval makes it a rare combination of street legality and performance. Developed on a flow bench and dyno, the system offers significantly improved airflow compared to the OEM airbox.
The optimised intake geometry ensures a smooth, unrestricted air path to the turbocharger, allowing the turbo to spool faster and maintain stable performance. Depending on the vehicle, gains of up to +25 hp and +20 Nm have been measured in comparison to the factory intake system.
Cooling & Heat Management
The integrated heat shield ensures the air filter draws in cool outside air even in demanding conditions. Despite being an open system, the hot engine bay air is displaced almost immediately, allowing the filter to maintain consistent intake temperatures and supporting efficient combustion.
Material Quality – PA 6.6 Intake Construction
The intake body is manufactured from high-quality PA 6.6 (Nylon 66), chosen for its excellent thermal resistance, rigidity, dimensional stability and abrasion resistance. This makes it an ideal material for long-term use in high-temperature environments.
- High strength and stiffness
- Low friction and excellent slide properties
- Resistant to oils, fuels, greases and engine bay chemicals
- Lightweight yet durable
- Electrically insulating and wear resistant
