AMSOIL Motor Oil – MS European 5W40 AMSOIL oils and additives – is lubrication really the place to make compromises?

Amsoil is an American lubricant manufacturer and one of the few that has not suffered the cost-cutting and quality decline that has unfortunately affected many previously high-quality oil brands in recent years.
Amsoil products are developed purely with lubrication performance and engine longevity in mind. In terms of price, these oils do not compete with the typical “supermarket oils” – but considering the website you are currently browsing, does your engine really fall under the category of an ordinary supermarket engine?
In our own customer projects, Amsoil is not only recommended – it is a requirement before vehicles are returned to the road. High-quality lubrication is the cheapest possible insurance for a tuned engine, and with today’s extended service intervals, cutting corners on engine oil is rarely worth it.

What should you know about this oil?
The MS European line is a street oil – a very high-quality one. MS stands for Medium SAPS, meaning the SAPS content (sulphated ash, phosphorus, sulphur) is carefully optimized. This makes the oil compatible with emissions equipment such as DPF/OPF systems, and suitable for both petrol and diesel engines in passenger cars and vans.
The European Motor Oil range resists oxidation and high temperatures exceptionally well, and its cleaning properties help keep the engine clean even during long service intervals. The oil is designed to reduce sludge, varnish and oil consumption.
The thermally stable composition helps prevent carbon buildup and provides cooling for turbochargers. The low pour point protects turbo bearings from oil starvation in cold weather and ensures oil flows to critical components quickly after cold start.
You may use the manufacturer’s recommended oil change interval, including LongLife intervals (although for other reasons we generally do not recommend long intervals for internal-combustion engines).
MS European is designed especially for modern European petrol and diesel engines.
5W30 vs 5W40 – which should you choose?
Always follow the manufacturer’s viscosity recommendation. Quality oil protects well even at lower viscosity grades. In high-temperature or heavy-load use, stepping up to a thicker viscosity can be justified.
