Denso IKH24 Iridium spark plug – high quality choice for Audi and Volkswagen EA888.3 and Gen4 engines
This spark plug is a great choice for mildly or heavily tuned EA888 Gen3 or EA888 Gen4 2.0L engines. These engines are commonly found in models such as VW Golf GTI and R Mk7 and Mk8, Seat Leon Cupra, Audi TTS, S3, S1, as well as many other models including Skoda Superb, Octavia, Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Passat and Arteon. In practice, this covers most 2013-2025 VAG 1.8-2.0 engines.
Note! This plug should not be confused with the IKH Racing plug, which is known from high output RS3 DAZA engines and also works in EA888 engines. You can find the Denso IKH Racing plug here.
- High quality Denso product
- Durable long life iridium tip designed for extended mileage
- Strong and reliable spark even in tuned engines
What is the best spark plug for EA888 engines?
This is a common question among tuners. The internet is full of horror stories about broken electrodes, engine failures, and melted plugs at higher Stage levels. At Futurez, we have built a significant number of these engines in Finland. Based on collected real world data, we mainly use NGK SILFER8C7ES as well as Denso IKH24 and IKH01-24 plugs.
The Brisk ER12S is also a popular silver electrode option, but due to the softer material the service life is unfortunately shorter.
Denso is an excellent choice for most stock or tuned setups. If you need project specific help with your VAG engine, you can easily contact our specialists for example via WhatsApp through our contact page.
For spark plug gap, we recommend using the factory default gap or approximately 0.6 mm in tuned engines.
