Why the whole unit, can’t I build it myself?

For the last decade and more, BMW has been using a weld-on type diff, which you cannot disassemble simply bu unscrewing the bolts and fitting a new unit. Instead installing a LSD in these models needs skilled machining job, where the ring gear will be separated from OEM unit, modified, and fitted with your Wavetrac unit with reinforced ARP bolts. This conversion is often rather expensive, and not something every machining shop is willing to do at all.

Ready built unit is an easy choice, you’ll be happy to know your diff has been built by Wavetrac with accurate tolerances, offering laid-back kilometres for the future.

Delivery time

These units are exchange parts, meaning that new units are built in the cores that have been returned from our customers. At any given moment there’s only so many units on the move, which leaves a risk of delays in case the return shipments would be delayed. Typical delivery time is between 1 to 3 weeks, should any excessive delays be expected – our team would contact you regarding your order.
