Polyurethane reinforcement kit for Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda MQB engine dogbone mount
One of the most popular and widely supported model families in the Futurez range is the MQB platform VAG vehicles, for which we offer nearly every possible performance part and upgrade service.
A very popular small upgrade for these models is reinforcing the so called dogbone mount. The bushings in this mount tend to wear over time and mileage, causing excess drivetrain movement and vibration.
A polyurethane insert is an excellent solution because it provides a balanced compromise between solid billet mounts and the factory rubber bushing. Polyurethane remains elastic enough that it does not transmit excessive vibration into the chassis, while still eliminating unwanted drivetrain play.
What is a dogbone mount in Audi and Volkswagen models?
This is not the sway bar end link commonly called a dogbone, but rather the longitudinal support arm located underneath the engine.
This arm limits engine movement in the engine bay, especially during load transitions such as acceleration and engine braking.
The bushing shown as number 2 in the image is the component reinforced by this product.
Insert or hybrid bushing?
The mount is available in two main versions. The lighter option is an insert, which fills the empty voids in the factory bushing and stiffens it effectively. Installation is very simple from underneath the vehicle while it is on a lift.
For more demanding setups, a hybrid version is available from Powerflex. In addition to the insert, it includes the lower half of the bushing assembly. This is ideal if the original bushing is heavily worn, but installation is slightly more involved since the original bushing must first be removed. In most cases this can still be done from underneath without removing the subframe.

The image shows the difference between the heavier hybrid bushing and the insert version.
Choosing the correct bushing type
There are mainly two different bushing designs, see comparison image below. While VIN based lookup often gives a good indication, the bushing may have been replaced previously. Therefore we recommend visually confirming which type is installed under your vehicle.
After confirming, you can select the correct version from the product options, either insert or hybrid.
Tips and notes
- The main support arm shown in the images also contains a small secondary bushing. An upgrade option for that is available in related products.
- We recommend replacing the factory mounting bolt as well, as it is officially a single use stretch bolt.
