Garrett PowerMax Turbocharger – VW / Audi / Cupra 2.0 TSI EA888 EVO4 (2020+)
The Garrett PowerMax direct-fit turbocharger is a high-performance upgrade designed specifically for the latest 2.0L TSI EA888 EVO4 engines found in modern VAG platforms such as the Volkswagen Golf R Mk8, Audi S3 and Cupra models.
This turbocharger retains full OEM-style fitment while delivering a substantial increase in airflow and power capability. On a conservative dyno calibration, the PowerMax turbo has demonstrated up to 520 hp (383 kW) and 576 Nm of torque, while maintaining excellent response and drivability.
Flow testing shows a +20% increase in compressor flow and a +37% increase in turbine flow compared to the factory turbocharger. This is achieved using Garrett’s latest-generation compressor and turbine wheel aerodynamics, all packaged within the original OEM footprint.
The turbine wheel is manufactured from Mar-M alloy, rated for exhaust gas temperatures up to 1050°C. The stainless steel, internally wastegated turbine housing is also rated to 1050°C and features an optimized wastegate channel for improved flow control and durability under sustained high-load conditions.
The turbocharger is supplied as a complete assembly, including a calibrated OEM-style electric actuator for true plug-and-play installation. A fully machined turbo speed sensor port is included, allowing turbo speed monitoring via external data logging or Garrett’s G-Smart Bluetooth Module (sold separately).
This turbocharger is also used in our Garrett + TVS Engineering ECU & TCU tuning package for the Volkswagen Golf Mk8 R, achieving 500+ hp with stock downpipe and factory emissions systems.
