The stock catalytic converters in the 3.0TFSI engine are notoriously placed in a tight spot, and you don’t want to make that job any harder than necessary. At the same time, the stock cats in the 3.0TFSI supercharged engine are known to be a weak point – they run exceptionally hot and tend to clog and fail, especially in tuned vehicles.

Upgrading the downpipes in S4 and S5 models should be one of the first modifications before increasing power beyond stock levels.
