The precision-cast X-connection, produced in Akrapovic’s in-house titanium foundry, blends exhaust pulses from both cylinder banks into a harmonized, aggressive tone. When tested together with the Slip-On Line system on the Akrapovic dyno, the combination delivered gains of +8.5 kW (11.5 hp) at 6,150 rpm and +15.6 Nm at 2,550 rpm, along with a remarkable 72.6% weight reduction (–19.56 kg) compared to the stock section.

The sound evolves naturally with engine load and rpm: sharper acoustic feedback during acceleration, distinctive backfire on downshifts, and a fuller, richer tone when cruising. This transforms the M5 into an even more engaging and emotional car to drive.
