Tired of constantly swapping out those HPFP bucket tappets? The BAR-TEK® roller conversion kit lets you throw that old-school bucket in the bin and replaces it with the much more reliable roller-style design familiar from the newer EA888 engines.
The roller design spreads the camshaft’s pressure over a significantly larger area. Less friction means less wear. It’s a well-known issue that if the original bucket fails, it eats the camshaft and can spit metal shavings directly into your oil pan—usually a shortcut to a full engine rebuild. This upgrade also keeps the pump piston perfectly centered, reducing the risk of leaks.
The kit includes everything you need:
- Roller tappet for the high-pressure pump
- Custom-rated spring designed for this conversion
- New gasket for the chain housing
- CNC-machined adapter flange
- Galvanized bolts and washers
PLEASE NOTE: Installation requires machining. To fit the new adapter, the original camshaft housing must be milled to a 35mm bore. This can be done by any competent machine shop, or we can handle it for you. Contact our customer service for more details.
