F* Race Essentials – MQB Downpipe
High flow downpipe is one of the first upgrades when tuning your MQB EA888.3 platform, such as Volkswagen Golf GTI, Audi A3, Seat Leon or other similar models. This downpipe from our Essentials series have quickly became popular, upgrading your dp lowers the exhaust temp, backpressure and decreases your turbolag. Quicker response, more power and torque.
Critical upgrade before going any further to Stage2 or Stage3 tunes.
- Good fitment, and enough clearance to subframe / chassis which is not always the case
- Available with 200CPI high-flow catalytic
- Available also in de-cat type, not for road use.
Remember that upgrading your downpipe typically gives you a good amount of added exhaust note as well.
Futurez tips
- Our recommendation is to always take your engine to get properly tuned when replacing your downpipe. That way you’ll also get the full benefit of added flow capacity.
- For optimal sealing in MQB downpipe/exhaust joints, you can use a modest amount of exhaust installation paste, or a thin layer of high temp silicone paste such as Permatex Supra Copper.
- We don’t recommend using this product in public roads.
