IE Cold Air Intake System for Audi 8R SQ5 & Q5 3.0T

The Integrated Engineering Cold Air Intake is a performance intake system developed for Audi 8R SQ5 and Q5 models equipped with the supercharged 3.0T V6 engine. Designed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and motorsport-inspired airflow principles, it maximizes airflow while maintaining stable intake temperatures for consistent performance on both road and track.

The ram-air design, integrated velocity stack and large 5-inch air filter increase the amount of cool air supplied to the engine. On properly tuned vehicles, the system can support gains of up to 15-20 horsepower while improving throttle response and allowing the characteristic supercharger sound to become more pronounced.

Technical Information

The integrated velocity stack smoothly directs airflow from the air filter into the intake tract while minimizing turbulence and pressure loss. It also serves as a rigid mounting point for the air filter, reducing vibration and improving overall durability.

A multi-piece aluminum heat shield channels cool air from the front of the vehicle while shielding the intake from engine bay heat. This helps maintain lower intake temperatures and more consistent performance during demanding driving conditions.

Performance

ECU calibrations, supercharger pulley upgrades and other performance modifications require more airflow than the factory intake can provide. The IE intake delivers a greater volume of cool air, allowing supporting modifications to perform more effectively across the entire RPM range.

The freer-flowing intake path also enhances the distinctive supercharger whine and engine induction sound while retaining the refinement of a sealed intake system.

Installation

The intake installs using the factory mounting points without drilling or permanent modifications. All required intake tubing, silicone couplers, heat shield components and installation hardware are included for a straightforward bolt-on installation.

Optional Carbon Fiber Lid

An optional high-gloss carbon fiber lid is available separately to enhance the appearance of the engine bay. It is designed specifically for the IE intake system and installs directly onto the airbox for an OEM-quality fit and finish.
