IE Cold Air Intake System for Audi B9 A4 & A5 2.0T

The Integrated Engineering Cold Air Intake is a performance intake system developed for Audi B9 A4 and A5 models equipped with the 2.0T TFSI engine. Designed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and detailed 3D engine bay scanning, the system maximizes airflow while maintaining factory-quality fitment and reliability.

The ram-air intake design, integrated velocity stack and oversized high-flow air filter provide increased airflow to the turbocharger. On properly tuned vehicles, the intake can support gains of approximately 10-20 horsepower while improving throttle response and enhancing turbocharger induction sound.

Technical Information

The integrated velocity stack promotes smooth airflow from the air filter into the intake system while minimizing turbulence and pressure loss. It also provides a secure mounting point for the filter, improving durability and reducing vibration.

A three-piece heat shield directs cool air from the front of the vehicle while isolating the intake from engine bay heat. An additional heat shield mounted above the turbocharger further reduces radiant heat transfer from the turbocharger and exhaust components.

Performance

The freer-flowing intake path supplies the turbocharger with a greater volume of cool air than the factory intake system, allowing ECU calibrations and supporting performance upgrades to operate more efficiently across the RPM range.

The intake also delivers a more pronounced turbocharger and induction sound while maintaining the refined appearance and benefits of a sealed intake system.

Installation

The intake installs using the factory mounting points without drilling or permanent modifications. All required intake components, heat shields, silicone couplers and installation hardware are included, allowing installation in approximately one hour using basic hand tools.

Optional Carbon Fiber Lid

An optional high-gloss carbon fiber lid is available separately to enhance the appearance of the intake system. It is designed specifically for the IE airbox and follows the factory engine bay contours for an OEM-quality fit and finish.
