The Spool upgraded inlet pipes give the M157 and M278 turbochargers a less restrictive air path. The factory inlets can become a bottleneck once airflow and boost are increased.
The pipes replace the original parts with an application-specific higher-flow arrangement. Reduced inlet restriction supports turbo response and lets the compressors operate with less vacuum ahead of the wheels. The benefit is greatest when filters, turbos and calibration are designed around the same build.
