F* by SEKTØR HX-01 is a ready-to-install plug & play Haldex controller for Volkswagen Group vehicles equipped with a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. The HX-01 allows you to adjust the operation of the AWD system directly from your phone, without modifications or permanent changes to your vehicle.

With this device, you can adjust the Haldex torque distribution, its behaviour at different throttle positions and loads, and configure different driving modes. The device is designed for enthusiasts who want to get hands-on with how their AWD system operates. Instead of being limited to a fixed Haldex software setup, you can experiment and find the settings that work best for your own driving style.

The controller is installed inline with the vehicle’s original Haldex system using ready-made connectors. The factory Haldex control unit remains in use, while the HX-01 modifies the request sent to it according to the selected control logic.

All-Wheel-Drive Control

Why would you want to adjust the Haldex system in the first place? If you have driven different AWD vehicles in a more spirited manner, you will know that although Haldex is a capable all-wheel-drive system, its behaviour is generally quite front-biased. In many situations, the rear axle does not receive as much torque as the driver might prefer, or the system may disengage the rear drive too easily. The HX-01 allows you to comprehensively change how the Haldex system behaves to suit your preferences.

You can configure the vehicle for front-wheel drive only, lock the Haldex system for a much more aggressive torque distribution, or precisely adjust how the torque distribution changes according to factors such as load and throttle position.

The original control unit remains in use, with the HX-01 simply operating alongside it. This means you can adjust only the parameters you want to change – there is no need to reinvent the wheel and build the entire control strategy from scratch.

Phone Control

The easiest way to access the user interface is directly through your phone’s web browser. No separate app or computer is normally required. Connect your phone to the HX-01, open the interface and select the operating mode you want – then you’re ready to start adjusting.

The controller can also be configured to work with a separate switch without using a phone, utilising the vehicle’s CAN bus. For example, you can assign a preferred driving mode to a button on the centre console for an almost factory-style installation.

Please note that the software offers plenty of possibilities for different configurations, limited largely by your imagination, but more advanced setups require some effort and DIY knowledge from the user.

OpenHaldex SS

The HX-01 is supplied with OpenHaldex SS software pre-installed and configured as standard. The software allows Haldex control using different operating modes, maps and conditions based on data available from the vehicle’s CAN bus.

An even more comprehensive Pro software version is currently undergoing testing and will become available in the near future.

Plug & Play Installation

The HX-01 is supplied as a complete, professionally finished and enclosed controller. The plug & play connection allows installation without cutting the original wiring harness or making permanent electrical modifications. Simply connect the plugs, complete the straightforward initial setup (instructions included), and you’re ready to go.

The protected and dust-resistant enclosure helps protect the electronics from dust and dirt encountered in automotive use.

If required, the vehicle can be returned to its original configuration very easily – simply disconnect the HX-01 from the wiring harness and the system is back to its factory setup.

Compatibility

Haldex Generations 2, 4 and 5

Suitable for Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda models equipped with a compatible Haldex all-wheel-drive system. Always check the Haldex generation used in your vehicle before ordering and select the correct version from the menu.

Please take into account any factory warranty applicable to your vehicle and its terms and conditions, which may not permit modifications to the AWD system settings.

Always observe the road traffic laws and regulations applicable in your region. We recommend using the device only for track driving. Track days and ice tracks are where you can really make the most of it!
