Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust package – BMW M440i G22/G23 non-OPF

Akrapovič develops materials, structure and sound as one complete system. Months of development refine both performance and the sound character until everything is in tune. Manufacturing takes place in Akrapovič’s own facilities, with intricate cast components made in its own foundry. At Futurez, we have proudly served as an Akrapovič importer for over a decade.

The Evolution Line for the BMW M440i combines a lightweight, high-grade titanium rear exhaust with an austenitic stainless-steel link pipe set. Hand-crafted carbon fibre tailpipes contain two acoustic reflectors that direct part of the sound towards the cabin. Intricate components are cast in Akrapovič’s own foundry.

Two resonators developed for this engine shape a deep, rich and sporty straight-six sound, with a design intended to avoid unwanted drone. The system has two valves rather than the single stock valve. An included TNG controller operates the additional valve.

The Evolution figures below are stated in Akrapovič’s product description and were measured on its own dynamometer against the stock BMW M440i exhaust. The separate page table identifies an OPF-equipped Slip-On test, so those figures are not presented as results for this non-OPF package.

Power and torque figures are the manufacturer’s maximum gains at the stated engine speeds, rather than differences between peak engine outputs. The vehicle version and configuration affect the results achieved.

Fitment and points to consider

For BMW M440i G22 Coupé and G23 Cabriolet models without an OPF/GPF particulate filter, including the xDrive Cabriolet. The package includes S-BM/T/31H and the mandatory E-BM/SS/8 link pipe set. This configuration is intended for track use and is not covered by ECE approval. Akrapovič recommends ECU remapping. An additional original valve actuator, part 18 30 8 686 640, must be purchased separately and is excluded from the package price.

Installation and setup

We recommend having your Akrapovič exhaust installed by an authorised Akrapovič dealer. Appropriate test equipment and software help verify correct exhaust operation, valve control and settings after installation.

We offer professional installation of Akrapovič products at our ECU Helsinki Customs workshop in Vantaa, Finland.
