Akrapovič Slip-On Line titanium exhaust – BMW XM G09
Akrapovič develops materials, structure and sound as one complete system. Months of development refine both performance and the sound character until everything is in tune. Manufacturing takes place in Akrapovič’s own facilities, with intricate cast components made in its own foundry. At Futurez, we have proudly served as an Akrapovič importer for over a decade.
The Slip-On Line for the BMW XM is built from high-grade titanium. Its tailpipes combine titanium inner sleeves with hand-crafted carbon fibre outer sleeves, while acoustic reflectors direct part of the exhaust sound towards the cabin. Valve housings and two collectors are cast in Akrapovič’s own titanium foundry.
One valve on either side of the muffler controls exhaust flow through the Akrapovič control kit. Sound develops with engine speed and load, moving from a smooth, harmonic tone at low revs to a distinctive V8 rumble in the mid-range and a higher-frequency sporty sound towards the top end.
Manufacturer measurements
Akrapovič measured the changes on its own dynamometer using a BMW XM Label against its stock M exhaust system.
| Measurement | Change versus stock |
|---|---|
| Power | Up to +7.6 kW / +10.3 hp (metric) at 5 750 rpm |
| Torque | Up to +12.6 Nm at 5 750 rpm |
| Weight | −11.4 kg / −50.7 % |
| Measured weight | Akrapovič 11.1 kg, stock 22.4 kg |
Power and torque figures are the manufacturer’s maximum gains at the stated engine speeds, rather than differences between peak engine outputs. The vehicle version and configuration affect the results achieved.
Fitment and points to consider
Akrapovič states EC/ECE type approval for cars equipped with an OPF/GPF filter. Plug-and-play installation does not require ECU remapping. The optional Evolution link pipe is for track use only and invalidates the Slip-On system’s approval. Using the optional Sound Kit also invalidates ECE type approval.
Optional Sound Kit
The optional Akrapovič Sound Kit lets you switch between a quieter mode and a sportier sound from the cabin. A wireless Sound Remote Controller operates the valve actuators through a receiver.
Using the Sound Kit invalidates the exhaust system’s ECE type approval. Manufacturer images are representative. Select it only as an option for a compatible Akrapovič exhaust.
The Sound Kit is optional. Select the package without it or add it using the product options.
Installation and setup
We recommend having your Akrapovič exhaust installed by an authorised Akrapovič dealer. Appropriate test equipment and software help verify correct exhaust operation, valve control and settings after installation.
We offer professional installation of Akrapovič products at our ECU Helsinki Customs workshop in Vantaa, Finland.
