BAR-TEK RACE intake manifold, 2.0 TFSI EA113

When you upgrade an EA113’s breathing, the intake manifold needs to keep up with the rest of the build. The BAR-TEK RACE intake manifold replaces the standard manifold on compatible transverse 2.0 TFSI EA113 engines and is designed for use with both original and upgraded turbochargers.

BAR-TEK developed and tested the manifold on its own dyno. The runner and plenum design is intended to improve cylinder filling, throttle response, power and torque. More than just engine bay decoration, then. The manufacturer does not specify a single power gain figure for this product.

Construction and included components

• Thick-wall cast construction with a black coating
• Flow-optimised intake runners
• O-ring seals at the cylinder head flange, throttle body connection and manifold cover
• Includes a thermal insulating plate between the cylinder head and manifold
• Installation kit included
• Manufacturer part number 21tf204

The insulating plate reduces heat transfer from the cylinder head into the manifold. Extra heat is not something the intake needs when you are trying to keep it cooler.
