BMS intake kit, BMW 5 Series G30 / G31 / G38 and 6 Series GT G32
This BMS intake reduces intake restriction and makes induction and turbo sounds more noticeable. The black anodised MAF housing is CNC-machined from aluminium. The cone filter also draws air through the inverted cone in its end.
The original cold air duct, airbox base and heat shield remain in use. BMS describes installation as quick and fully reversible.
BMS quotes gains of up to 8 wheel horsepower on the B58 engine, along with improved throttle response and turbo spool. Results depend on the car and its other modifications.
Filter maintenance
The oiled cotton filter can be cleaned and re-oiled with a suitable maintenance kit. BMS recommends servicing it every 15,000–20,000 miles, approximately 24,000–32,000 km. The dry filter requires no oil. It can be cleaned with compressed air from the inside out and replaced when needed. BMS particularly recommends the dry filter for very dusty or sandy environments.
