IE Carbon Fiber Intake System for Audi B9/B9.5 S4 & S5 3.0T
The Integrated Engineering Carbon Fiber Intake System is designed for Audi B9 and B9.5 S4 and S5 models equipped with the turbocharged 3.0T V6 engine. Its oversized one-piece carbon fiber airbox, integrated velocity stack and 5-inch air filter provide increased airflow while reducing restriction ahead of the turbocharger.
The system flows up to 37% more than the factory intake system on stock turbo applications. When combined with the optional IE Turbo Inlet Pipe and a hybrid turbocharger, airflow can increase by up to 61% over the factory intake and inlet. On appropriately tuned engines, the complete system can support gains of up to 19 horsepower and 28 Nm of torque.

One-Piece Carbon Fiber Construction
A large internal airbox volume is essential for maintaining airflow at higher engine output levels. Carbon fiber allows the intake to use complex shapes and smooth transitions that would be difficult to achieve with conventional bent sheet metal.
The one-piece design reduces the number of joints and helps prevent air leaks, rubbing noises and components working loose over time. It also allows the system to use the available engine bay space efficiently while providing a clean, high-quality appearance.
Integrated Velocity Stack
The airbox incorporates a bellmouth-style velocity stack that channels airflow smoothly from the large filter surface into the turbo inlet. Its shape reduces turbulence and pressure loss while maintaining a high-velocity air path through the intake system.
Multiple Air Supply Zones
The intake draws air from two separate pressure zones. Its large front inlet receives high-pressure outside air from the front grille and operates as a ram-air supply. Louvers in the lower aluminum plate provide additional airflow from the low-pressure area beneath the intake when required.
This dual-zone design distributes air across the entire filter surface and helps maintain sufficient airflow for both standard and high-output turbocharger configurations.
Turbo and Engine Sound
The factory intake system suppresses much of the turbocharger and engine sound. IE’s freer-flowing design makes turbo spool, throttle and diverter valve sounds more noticeable. The enclosed carbon fiber airbox produces a more controlled and refined sound than a fully open-element intake.
Optional IE Turbo Inlet Pipe
The optional cast IE Turbo Inlet Pipe replaces the restrictive factory plastic turbo inlet. It maintains the largest possible internal diameter from the intake to the turbocharger, reducing airflow restriction throughout the complete inlet system.
In the manufacturer’s referenced test configuration, the intake alone improved airflow by approximately 11.5% compared with the factory intake and turbo inlet. When combined with the IE Turbo Inlet Pipe on a hybrid turbo setup, the improvement can reach approximately 61.5%.
The Turbo Inlet Pipe can be purchased with the intake or installed later. Adapter rings for hybrid turbochargers are sold separately.
Hybrid Turbo Compatibility
The IE Turbo Inlet Pipe uses CNC-machined, O-ring-sealed adapter rings to fit the factory turbocharger or a range of aftermarket hybrid turbos. The inlet reduces in diameter only at the turbo connection, allowing the rest of the intake path to remain as large as possible.
Installation and Fitment
The intake was developed using detailed 3D scans of the engine bay, grille, bumper and hood. This digital model allows accurate use of the available space while ensuring suitable clearances and factory-like fitment.
The system uses factory-style mounting points and includes the required silicone couplers, clamps and stainless steel installation hardware.
