Kelford camshaft, GM LS V8, three-bolt cam gear
Kelford is a New Zealand camshaft manufacturer with roots in Christchurch dating back to 1968. Its profiles range from upgrades for street-driven cars to fully built race engines. Choose the cam around the rest of the engine and its intended use, rather than simply picking the longest duration.
This selection is for the GM LS V8, three-bolt cam gear engine. Profile differences, spring recommendations and required modifications are detailed below.

Profile RX108-A8
A solid roller lifter profile for GM LS V8 engines, including drift, circuit and street/strip applications. Retailers list 0.650-inch intake and exhaust valve lift with a 1.7 rocker ratio and 0.020-inch valve lash. Published duration figures conflict. Contact our sales team for exact specifications.
Profile RX108-B
Solid-roller profile for a built LS of 6.0–7.0 litres or more. Suits top street and super sedan racing, including heavier cars. Requires at least 10:1 compression and either a manual transmission or an automatic with a high-stall converter and transbrake. Suitable for carburettors or fuel injection. Recommended springs: PAC-1209X.

Manufacturer profile information
Profile RX108-SP
For a solid-lifter turbo racing engine using launch control or flat shift. Suitable for a 76–88 mm single turbo or twin 58–64 mm turbos. PAC-1209X is the general spring recommendation, high-boost, high-rpm applications require separate spring selection.

Manufacturer profile information
Checking heights are shown with the duration figures. Net lift is the net valve movement specified by the manufacturer, while cam lift is listed separately. IVO/IVC denote intake valve opening/closing and EVO/EVC exhaust valve opening/closing. BTDC/ATDC mean before/after top dead centre, and BBDC/ABDC before/after bottom dead centre.
Installation and profile selection
Confirm the exact engine version, valvetrain design and the modifications required by the profile. Check cam timing and valve-to-piston clearance during installation. Springs, lifters and other supporting parts mentioned with a profile are not included unless the profile explicitly states that they come with the kit.
Check the cam gear bolt pattern, trigger and valvetrain. A production LS3 generally uses a single-bolt cam, so a three-bolt cam requires the appropriate gear and fasteners. Account for L99 AFM/VVT and lifters. RX solid roller profiles require the specified lifter conversion.
