BAR-TEK fourth-gear support kit, VAG 02M/02Q gearbox

The BAR-TEK fourth-gear support kit is designed for 02M and 02Q gearboxes where high engine torque places extra load on the input shaft and the fourth-gear pair. An external aluminium housing supports the shaft through a brass sliding contact and helps keep the gears correctly aligned.

Controlled support for high-load use

Under hard acceleration, the input shaft can vibrate and deflect far enough that the fourth-gear teeth no longer engage across their full width. This increases the risk of gear failure. The support preload is freely adjustable, allowing the assembly to be set up for the individual gearbox.
