The DQ200 is a seven-speed dry-clutch DSG transmission. The mechanical gearbox and the mechatronic hydraulic circuit use different fluids, so each circuit must be filled with the correct product.

The kit contains 1 litre of hydraulic fluid, 2 litres of gearbox oil and the required seals and sealing washers. Unlike many wet-clutch DSG transmissions, the DQ200 does not have an external oil filter that is replaced as part of routine servicing.

Recommended DQ200 oil change interval

Not every VAG service schedule specifies a regular oil change interval for the DQ200. Our preventive maintenance recommendation is to replace the fluids in both circuits approximately every 60,000 kilometres and whenever the transmission’s service history is unknown.

Earlier servicing is a sensible way to prevent problems in tuned vehicles, heavy city driving or other demanding use.

Choose AMSOIL or a quality aftermarket oil

AMSOIL’s carefully controlled friction properties support smooth gear changes, while the oil also withstands high temperatures and shear stress in demanding use, including track days.

With the DQ200 AMSOIL option, the hydraulic circuit is supplied with an OE-quality aftermarket fluid rather than an AMSOIL product.

As the more affordable option, you can choose quality aftermarket oils meeting the applicable VAG specifications for both circuits.

Change DSG oils CORRECTLY.

A DSG oil change is not exactly a simple “wax on, wax off” job. Merely draining the old oil and pouring in new fluid does not guarantee the correct oil level or a successful service.

Depending on the transmission model, the procedure may require the vehicle to be level, the oil to be at the correct temperature, the transmission and different selector positions to be cycled, and the oil to be circulated through the transmission passages. Finally, the oil level must be checked within the manufacturer’s specified temperature range. An incorrect oil level can cause transmission problems even when the oil itself is correct.
