F* Essentials – MQB dogbone mount insert

The F* Essentials MQB billet dogbone insert is a simple upgrade for VAG MQB models. It limits drivetrain play under acceleration and engine braking, which can become more noticeable as the original rubber mount softens with age. The insert also supports the original component, helping reduce the load caused by excessive movement.

This precision-machined aluminium insert fills the voids in the original bushing and limits unwanted movement without compromising everyday comfort. The result is a more controlled, solid-feeling drivetrain.

The insert works together with the original rubber bushing without unnecessarily increasing noise or vibration. Its solid aluminium construction retains its shape rather than softening or wearing like some softer alternatives.

Check the correct version before ordering

Two versions are available: Typ1 and Typ2. Both options are shown in the product photos. MQB vehicles use different original dogbone mount shapes, so check the mount fitted to your car before ordering.

From underneath the car, inspect the shape of the empty recess around the dogbone mounting bolt. Compare that recess with the inserts shown in the product photos and select the option whose shape matches your mount. The model and year alone do not determine the correct version.
