Akrapovič develops materials, structure and sound as one complete system. Months of development refine both performance and the sound character until everything is in tune. Manufacturing takes place in Akrapovič’s own facilities, with intricate cast components made in its own foundry. At Futurez, we have proudly served as an Akrapovič importer for over a decade.

The Evolution Line for the BMW M5 is built from lightweight, high-grade titanium. Larger main pipes and a design without exhaust valves are combined with collectors and an X-connection cast in Akrapovič’s own foundry. The X-connection brings together the exhaust flow from both banks of the engine.

A dedicated resonator, an additional damping element in the link pipe and acoustic reflectors in the tailpipes shape a deep, sporty sound across the driving modes, with attention to cruising comfort. The tailpipes combine titanium with hand-crafted carbon fibre and are available in round or hexagonal form.

TP-CT/78 combines a round titanium structure with a hand-made carbon fibre outer sleeve. Integrated acoustic reflectors direct part of the sound towards the cabin.

Manufacturer measurements

Akrapovič measured performance on its own dynamometer using an OPF-equipped BMW M5 against its stock exhaust. The test vehicle therefore differs from the non-OPF fitment specified for this product.

Power and torque figures are the manufacturer’s maximum gains at the stated engine speeds, rather than differences between peak engine outputs. The vehicle version and configuration affect the results achieved.

Fitment and points to consider

For BMW M5 G90 Sedan and G99 Touring models without an OPF/GPF particulate filter. Akrapovič describes installation as plug-and-play with no ECU remapping required. No ECE approval is stated for this configuration.

Installation and setup

We recommend having your Akrapovič exhaust installed by an authorised Akrapovič dealer. Appropriate test equipment and software help verify correct exhaust operation, valve control and settings after installation.

We offer professional installation of Akrapovič products at our ECU Helsinki Customs workshop in Vantaa, Finland.
