The factory C-hub cog drive in the 8HP45, 8HP50 and 8HP51 is cast steel. Higher torque, line pressure and aggressive shifts can expose the limitations of the casting, leading to tooth deformation, spline wear or cracking under shock load.

Spool replaces the casting with a fully CNC-machined 300M alloy-steel hub. This ultra-high-strength material is widely used in aerospace and motorsport driveline parts for its consistent structure and fatigue resistance.
