A billet-aluminium pulley that reduces alternator speed in a high-revving engine. The manufacturer specifies 35% underdrive, with separate Bosch and Valeo versions.
Specifications
- CNC-machined AW-6082 aluminium. The drive ratio changes from approximately 3:1 to 2:1.
- Intended for uses such as track, drift and rally engines to reduce alternator overspeed and parasitic losses. MRT decals are included.
Bosch and Valeo
- Bosch: pulley height 41 mm. OE references 12311432988, 12311703736 and 12311726139. Listed engines: M43, M44, M50, M52 and S50.
- Valeo: pulley height 49 mm. OE references 12311713945, 12311436636, 12311703735 and 12311403026. Listed engines: M43, M50, M52, M54, S50 and S52.
The overall engine listing also includes M52TU. Always check the alternator manufacturer, OE reference and pulley dimensions against the photographs, as the engine code alone does not determine alternator type.
Installation
A longer auxiliary belt may be required. The pulley replaces the original item. The manufacturer recommends a suitable thread or shaft-retaining compound.
