Steeda S650 Mustang Clutch Spring Assist 35 lb/in 2024+

Steeda’s 35 lb/in assist spring replaces the original 130 lb/in S650 Mustang clutch spring. Reduced assistance gives a more linear pedal and makes the engagement point easier to judge.

The high factory spring rate and arcing pedal movement vary the assistance through the stroke: the spring initially compresses, then begins extending after roughly 30 degrees of movement. The softer Steeda spring reduces this effect. High-strength piano wire maintains elasticity and a consistent rate under repeated use.

Simply removing the original spring is not recommended. It can make the pedal too heavy, introduce chatter and prevent full return, leaving continuous load on slave-cylinder seals.
