MRT Gr.A DTM rear-axle components, BMW E30/Z3/Compact
Adjustment and fabrication parts for BMW semi-trailing-arm rear suspension. Select the adjuster kit or DIY component required. Installation involves cutting, welding and accurate alignment.
Adjuster kits
- Double-adjuster design based on 1990–1992 DTM components: 40 mm camber adjustment and 30 mm toe adjustment. Camber can be adjusted quickly from below, with a spherical inner-joint conversion.
- The horizontal kit works with original subframe pickup points and trailing arms. An A-brace reinforcement is required, and the body may need notching above the adjuster.
- The vertical kit requires modified subframe pickup points. Three pairs of different-height rod-end spacers allow rear roll-centre and load-transfer adjustment. It is not for original trailing-arm geometry.
DIY fabrication components
- Narrow-sweep pickup points and inner reinforcements reduce alignment changes during travel. Use with the vertical MRT-20007-4V kit and purpose-built trailing arms. Outer pickup points can be connected to the roll cage.
- Solid subframe bushes convert the body mounting to the DTM-style arrangement.
- Sway-bar mounts and exhaust brackets require the raised centre section and a purpose-built DTM-style anti-roll bar.
- The raised centre section lifts the differential cradle by 30 mm and requires substantial fabrication.
Fitment, materials and installation
BMW E30, E30 M3, Z3, Z3 M and E36 Compact. Other similar semi-trailing-arm systems may be adaptable with modifications.
Zinc-plated CrMo adjuster components, high-strength structural-steel weld-in parts and 304 stainless-steel spacers. MRT decals are included.
Remove the trailing arms. Both inner and outer ends require cutting and welding. Use a purpose-built jig or the manufacturer’s cutting templates.
